For me, being portable is something that is very important, so that I have everything I need anywhere I go, no matter what.  Mobile devices handle a lot of this, but there's always the case of having specific applications that you may need (along with the configurations that go along with them), no matter what computer you happen to be using.  Insert PortableApps.com.  PortableApps is a solution that will allow you to run certain applications (there's quite a few) from a USB stick, saving all of the configuration to said USB stick and that will operate on any Windows computer…

Nice find, Tim! I really like the idea of this program. I'll have to give this a try sometime, as I'm sure I could make great use of it.

As I mentioned above, what I really like about this is to be able to run XAMPP off of it to be able to do web development from anywhere. The only catch is that you have to start the services before you do anything, but thats not that big of a deal. Start the services and you have a full WAMP stack ready to go. Keep in htdocs all of the things you're working on (making sure to back them up on occasion) and you're off and running.

Heard of this site before but never gave it a try until now. Would have been nice for when I was formatting my system drive every 6 months, before Windows 7 came along.
