When I learned about word processing for the first time (officially, in high school), it was with WordPerfect 6. This was a wonderful tool to learn word processing as it had all of the basic things that one would want to do and if you were fairly advanced (or didnt mind tinkering around a little), you could change the format of your document through the altering of the format codes. However, a lot of years have passed since that time and I now use the industry standard in office suites, Microsoft Office. It used to be that I felt that Office was a HORRIBLE product. Up until Office 2007, I learned to use the product pretty well. I felt comfortable enough to generate the little bit of documentation I needed to pump out in a short amount of time. Of course, introduce the whole concept of a Ribbon interface, and Im back to square one again. Since I dont use Office that much (not nearly as much as I did in college, for example), I find that I struggle sometimes getting through formatting a document like I want. Read more »
